The Friends contributes funds to supplement the Library's programs and its collections of new books, e-Books, magazines, computers....  Our donations also have helped with improvements to the library and with funding temporary staff as needed to support our librarians.
We are also pleased to provide funding for on-going professional  training for our  librarians through occasional workshops and conferences. We are glad they bring the latest  professional insights back for the benefit of all.

As well as the regular Baby Story Time! Toddler Story Time! and Pre-School Story Time! that are ongoing through the year, there are also special parties celebrating holidays and programs/parties for school-age children during the winter holidays and spring break.  There are often crafts and snacks included in these events.  The Friends contribute to the snacks and the craft supplies for these special events.

In addition, every summer our Library offers a weekly special program for school-age children. These programs  are mainly planned around the theme for the Summer Reading Program of the year.   Over the course of the summer, attendance at the combined programs has been more than 1,000 children!  These programs cost from $75 to $300 each.  The Friends of the Library are pleased to contribute to the funding for at least some of these special programs.
